Hello River Runners & Maumee River Loving Folks,

We are about to travel the entire distance of the Maumee River between April 19 through April 26th ~THIS SATURDAY April 19th, Save Maumee Members will be launching from the glorious (or not so glorious) Junk Ditch in Fort Wayne, Indiana and embarking on a 141 mile journey down the Maumee river all the way “up” to Toledo, Ohio.  The launch area was chosen because of its significant location at the Continental Divide between the Mississippi and the Great Lakes! The journey will lead to a higher awareness of the issues that plague our beautiful river systems and help to catalyze action to protect our Maumee.  One of the group’s goals is to draw attention to the successes and issues that contribute to water quality.  A massive thank you goes out to everyone who has supported the campaign so far and if you haven’t gotten involved, it’s not too late!  You have an entire WEEK to join us on our riverbanks!Join us at one of our FREE & PUBLIC Programing at our landing LOCATIONS, as the Canoe Crew paddles downstream, the Land Crew will set the stage!  A documentarian crew will be documenting this maiden voyage and then work to past together two years of our work into a full length documentary!
